This is old news, but I missed it last year, and it's hysterical. Saw it today because it was referenced in Yahoo's "Big League Stew"

Forgive me if someone posted this already, but here's a link an interesting Tom Verducci article arguing that the way relief pitchers are used is not working:
I dont think his conclusions follow from the info he cites, altho I agree w some (not all) of the conclusions.
Also, I just read "The Extra 2%" by Jonah Keri. Very worthwhile "Moneyball-style" book about the recent success of the Tampa Rays.
