  • RHD's Latest Top 150 Roto Prospects ("Mid-Season" Edition)

Here's the latest list (previous list from 4/7/22). Lotsa new names (41).

The usual litany: I generally follow BA's prospect eligibility requirements, which are <=130 MLB AB or <=50 MLB IP. Unlike BA tho, amateurs, unsigned draftees and foreign players are eligible. Also, while BA has a different IP limit for relievers (30 IP?), relievers are eligible as long as they dont have >50 IP. As usual, this is for roto, not 'real' baseball, so pitchers are downgraded some, catchers downgraded somewhat (unless they're elite prospects and their bat will play at any position), actual closers are upgraded a lot, SB guys who project to get playing time get upgraded some, and guys who either currently are or project to soon be regulars can get upgraded quite a bit. Position listed is their current primary one to the best of my knowledge (correct me if I'm wrong), not the one they're likely to end up at.

      Thanx for the response, Pauly.

Yeah, it's a rather aggressive ranking for Jones and also for the other top draftees. I dont know whether they should be quite that high. But I did the same thing last year w Mayer and Lawlar and look where they are now on the lists of the major prospect sites. So I'll stand by the rankings for the time being.

        Thank you rhd!

This is very timely. We cannot trade prospects until after the All Star break. I am rebuilding in my AL only. This will help.

Thanks rhd. How close to the top 150 were Max Muncy, Dahian Santos, and Cristina Mena?

Painter outside of the top 5 is a travesty!!!

Philly boards have been blowing up Griff McGarry. The athletic had a nice write-up on him a few weeks back.
I'm not expecting to grow flowers in the desert...

Ridiculous K rates but terrible control - seems like a closer profile.

Max Muncy has over 2,000 major league ABs. I think he is no longer eligible for prospect lists.

Good call. I should have specified "the other Max Muncy" (no relation). Although, it would be interesting to use the old one as a baseline for value. I wonder where he would rank.

oh no, another "Michael A. Taylor" situation

                        Thanx for the response, SM.

Muncy and Santos werent particularly close. I was unfamiliar w Mena. After looking him up, I added him to my list. FG gave him a 35+ FV rating and he didnt appear on BA's updated team Top 30 prospects list. So he also is pretty far down.

Yeah, I've been seeing some hype on McGarry lately, too. He is much farther down the list, tho.

Thanks RHD. I'm having to rebuild my AL team. I have Greene, Jung, Volpe, Mead, Harris, Soderstrom and Gelof. I won't be able to keep them all but Greene, Jung and Volpe for sure.

Funny enough - both drafted by Oakland. Looks like the new one is Max P. Muncy and the original is Max S. Muncy.
