In advance of what's sure to be a disastrous Roe opinion, SCOTUS has just put out a slew of extraordinarily regressive opinions, including one authored by husband of seditious conspirator Ginni Thomas that overturns a 100 year old New York gun law. SCOTUS also ruled that Maine must be forced to spend state its dollars on religious schools, defying longstanding precedent. As Justice Sotomayor notes: "Today the court leads us to a place where separation of church and state becomes a constitutional violation."

Semi-relatedly, a Trump appointee in the 8th District (who was rated as "not qualified" by the American Bar Association - a hallmark of a metric shit ton of Trump appointees) just ruled that boycotts are not protected speech, only economic activity. This case stemmed from a Arkansas law that requires state contractors sign a pledge not to boycott Israel.

Thomas writes in his concurrence that the court should now reevaluate same sex marriage, interracial marriage and contraception. This court is astonishingly awful.

Um...isn't Thomas part of an interracial marriage.

Also, not that it’s really any better, I think he said they should reconsider the sex between consenting adults decision, not interracial marriages.

He called out all substantive due process cases and noted in particular those of Griswold (right to contraception), Lawrence (same sex relationships), and Obergefell (same sex marriage). The case of Loving vs. Virginia is another substantive due process case that guaranteed the right to interracial marriage.

"For that reason, in future cases, we should reconsider all of this Court's substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell," Thomas wrote.

Not exactly true - see above.

Yeah, I mean he specifically called out the three but certainly he was talking about everything.

He cited to his own special concurrence, like a dog licking its own balls. This is truly a rogue SCOTUS with no real constitutional framework or consistency for its decisions, just religious ideology.

A bunch of psycho red state laws are going to immediately kick in, such as Kentucky's red line law prohibiting any abortion, regardless of whether the pregnancy was due to rape or incest. The government forcing women to carry their own fathers' babies to term.

Which they’ll follow up by cutting back on health care at the same time so the poor and downtrodden won’t even be able to properly care for these kids. Just pull yourself up by your bootstraps people!
