First woman manager of an affiliated baseball team

    From RW:

Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports that the Yankees have named Rachel Balkovec the manager at Low-A Tampa, making her the first woman to manage an affiliated minor league club.

    She is only 34 y/o.

Good for Rachel, and good for the Yankees.

A rising tide lifts all boats. Good news for baseball.
I think the tragedy is that we have a Congress with a Senate that has a minority of misguided senators who will use the filibuster to keep the majority of people from even voting. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., 1963

Yes, very good news. A female GM, a female minor league mgr and a female professional player (Australia) all in about 1 yr's time. I think it's only a matter of time before we see a female player (probably lefty RP) in MLB, altho that may be a long time.

It is definitely good for the game. Lots of very bright minds that should be very much more involved.
