  • RHD's Latest Top 150 Roto Prospects ("Pre-MLB Amateur Draft" Edition)

Here's the latest list (previous list from 4/14/21). I thought I'd post this before the draft today to give my idea beforehand on how valuable I think some of these new draftees will be in roto.

The spiel again: I generally follow BA's prospect eligibility requirements, which are <=130 MLB AB or <=50 MLB IP. Unlike BA tho, amateurs, unsigned draftees and foreign players are eligible. Also, while BA has a different IP limit for relievers (30 IP?), relievers are eligible as long as they dont have >50 IP. As usual, this is for roto, not 'real' baseball, so pitchers are downgraded some, catchers downgraded somewhat (unless they're elite prospects and their bat will play at any position), and actual closers are upgraded a lot, SB guys who project to get playing time get upgraded some, and guys who either currently are or project to soon be regulars can get upgraded quite a bit. Position listed is their current primary one to the best of my knowledge (correct me if I'm wrong), not the one they're likely to end up at.

Thanx for the response. I'd probably advise to go w Dominguez, since he already was your choice and because he's already been ranked highly by many major prospecting sites. It's always hard for me to rank these amateurs. I just know I would take any of the top 4 HS shortstops before a lot of current pros, especially the 2 I have in front of Dominguez, who might go 1-2 overall. Each draft, about a dozen or so of the new draftees end up consensus top 100 prospects the next year. But I dont know where exactly to rank them. This year, I have the top guys ranked a lot higher than I usually do, even tho it's not supposed to be a strong draft. I think that's because a lot of the top guys already graduated this year. FG indicated that they'd rank Mayer #50 and Lawlar #126 on their prospects list (before they removed the ineligibles). So, yeah I'm being a bit aggressive. I'd go w Dominguez.

BTW, I took Lawlar in one of my leagues that allows drafting of amateurs. I just hope he signs instead of going to Vandy.

Take Dominguez and don't look back...

He has only 49.7 IP, which means he's still eligible.

Brady House fell to me with the last pick in our 12 team NL only 5x5.

We have a one round draft at All Star Break. House will be $10 when activated. To get a player inside of RHD's top 20 list is unexpected and awesome!

                  Thanks for doing this.

Congrats on getting House. Altho he may not end up being quite as highly ranked as I have him.

Which I did- much to the huge Arrrgg of our one and only Yankee backer who had the 2nd pic. I have 4 more pics to go in our AL only draft.

Rocker is a Met and this is a Mets-loving league - and did I hear that he's already signed? definitely prefer guys who definitely will sign.

my current farm features top 150 guys 7 Luciano, 13 Carroll, 51 HRamos, 72 McLain (lucked out by an NL team - the Reds - picking him at 17, so I get to keep him), 76 Baty, and 141 BMarquez. these two picks tomorrow will fill out my 8-man farm list.
                          anyone have a favorite hitter?
the top NL picks, fwiw, were:

                          16. Marlins - Kahlil Watson, SS

each pick will be listed at 5-S2 until the year after they lose rookie eligibility (no matter how long that takes).
                          then 5-S1 the following year.
then either 5-0 and out OR 10-L2 with an option to also keep at 15-L1 in 4th year.

Keep an eye on Miguel Vargas, who has shot all the way up to #38 on the BP list but is 100 spots lower here. Plus hit and emerging 30+ HR power.

Kumar Rocker is signed - Mets gave him better than a mil over slot, $6 mil total bonus by reports I read.

Of the hitters, if I could stash him away on a minors roster, I'd take Lawlar. Davis was very, very impressive, but the Pirates are like a D&D Will O' Wisp - they just suck the baseball life force out of anyone that touches their organization.
I'm just here for the baseball.
