  • Rotolab Question

On the Draft Screen, anyone know how to change the max salary in the Salary Box? It only goes as high as 59. I had changed it before in the older version, but now I don't see anywhere to do this now.

It’s in setup. I’m not at home but can be more prescriptive in a bit but you need to change the number of rows (I think that is what it’s called). Easy change so if you don’t figure it out let me know and I can send a screen shot later

      Yeah, I got it.

Setup>Rows in Bid Menu. Then change from 8 to 10 or more.

Good stuff. You’ll need those extra rows for Trout, Betts and Ramirez tonight.....

LOL I was thinking the same thing

That's exactly why I was asking, lol

Yeah, I had this question a couple of years ago - Rick hooked me up then too. Though neither went as high as I thought they would, tbh; Trout only eclipsed 59 by 2, and Mookie was under it by 1.

                What did Ramirez go for?

Did they change from industry standards K/9, BB/9 etc to the BBHQ standards K%, BB% this year? It makes editing pitching projections far more difficult, and it doesn't seem as if you can add K/9 back in the settings. As a 15+ year user, I don't ever recall K%. Anyone else feel the same, or am I "misremembering?"

EDIT - I didn't misremember. I sent Merv and email, and yup, he changed it from K9 to K% this year. He said it was "reflective of the industry" and got many requests to change it to K%. I responded that Baseball-Reference and FanGraphs both still use K9 and not K%. Let's hope he at least adds K9 back next season.

K% > K/9 -- wish it were the standard in ballpark scoreboards too

                        Could you elaborate on this?

Easiest thing is K% is so much easier to calculate or explain to someone: "K% is the percentage of batters a pitcher strikes out" vs "K/9 is the rate pitchers strike out batters per 9 innings they pitch"

                          good read: https://www.vivaelbirdos.com/2014/2/...etter-than-k-9 & https://community.fangraphs.com/batt...-k9-kbb-and-k/

For SP, k's per start would capture what I want to know. That's a "bottom line" number and reflects stamina and efficiency as well as k power.

A higher K% is not valuable if he needs 100 pitches over 4 innings and gets lifted because he's gassed.

Does this mean we should change ERA to ER%? I don't buy the logic that K% is easier to explain than K/9. Baseball fans that care enough at that level can do that math, and they're used to the K/9 stat anyway...
