  • Who’s Your School’s Most Famous Alumni?

Elementary School - PS 206, Brooklyn NY - Vince Lombardi. The keynote speaker at my 5th grade graduation in 1980 was our local assemblyman, some guy named Chuck Schumer. Wonder what happened to him?

High School - Abraham Lincoln HS, Brooklyn NY — so many: Neil Diamond, Marv Albert, John Forsythe, Lou Gossett Jr., Joseph Heller, Harvey Keitel, Arthur Miller, Buddy Rich, Neil Sedaka, Stephon Marbury, Lee Mazzilli. My alma mater became a national basketball powerhouse shortly after I graduated — Marbury, Lance Stephenson, Sebastian Telfair all became 1st rd NBA draft picks — so much so that it was featured in the movie “He Got Game” with the protagonist as a student athlete there. One of my friends there co-wrote the “Ice Age” movies, and another former good friend is Todd "Fritzy" Fritz from the Dan Patrick Show.

College - Stony Brook — Pat Benatar, Joe Nathan, Travis Jankowski, Adrien Brody, Colin Quinn.

    Elementary school - no idea.

High school - Bill Parcells, probably. Unless you count the porn star (sorry, “alternative film actress”) that graduated by year.

College - Michigan so, uhhh, Tom Brady? James Earl Jones? Gerald Ford? Lots to choose from.

          Me?

          j/k

I went to high school with actress Nancy Travis, NFL WR Billy Brooks and Shara Aranoff who was Chairman of the U.S. International Trade Commission under Pres. George W. Bush.

ETA -- He will only be known to hardcore jazz fans (maybe) but drummer Marty Richards was in my graduating class and he could play the skins ridiculously well back then too.

If DMT didn't exist we would have to invent it. There has to be a weirdest thing. Once we have the concept weird, there has to be a weirdest thing. And DMT is simply it.

My high school in Columbus Ohio had the Golden Bears as the mascot.
Alum Jack Nicklaus got his nickname from the mascot
Not sure of other famous alums but I graduated with Wendy - they were already successfully rich at that time and the fast food joint was only in Ohio and Indiana then
And Orange county house of Representatives member Harley Rouda was in that same class

Those are the three most interesting ones

I think she’s still performing. Joanna Angel. She’s listed on the notable alumni of our High school Wikipedia. Also had NBA/ABA player Billy Paultz

HS - Jumbo Elliott (former NY Giants O-lineman) or Sal the Stockbroker from Howard Stern. Shouts to Neal Heaton (former Pittsburgh Pirate) as well.

College - too many to name. I'll take Fred Rogers. You could go with Mike Ditka, Mark Cuban, Dan Marino, Andy Warhol, Jonas Salk... the list goes on and on.

High School - Former Olympian and Women's Soccer great Brianna Scurry or Former Olympian wrestler Brandon Paulson or Former Olympian Nordic Skier John Bauer (Bauer was a classmate and friend, so I had to add him). Three others, Garrison Keillor, Gretchen Carlson and (I hate to admit) Michelle Bachman.

College - Adam Thielen, Gov. Tim Walz, hockey player David Backus and TWolves owner Glen Taylor

i have epiphanies like that all the time. for example i was watching a basketball game today and realized pom poms are like a pair of tits. there's 2 of them. they're round. they shake. women play with them. thus instead of having two, cheerleaders have four boobs.

                        No one from High School

                        John Belushi - UW Whitewater.

                        From Whitewater blog:

                        John Belushi Attending UW-Whitewater
Ok, so a lot of people do know this. However, did you know that some scenes from Animal House were inspired by John Belushi’s attendance at UW-Whitewater? If you visit the Hamilton House Bed & Breakfast, they can confirm the rumors. Remember the scene where the character D-Day rides down the stairs on his motorcycle through the Delta Tau Chi house? That actually happened years ago in the Hamilton House. To this day, the staircase still has large dents where the motorcycle came through.

When I saw that you went to high school in Omaha my first thought was Connor Oberst. I used to know a few guys who lived in Boston that went to high school with him.

As for the question, no one from either my high school or college. The headmaster from my high school for senior year was arrested in a pedophilia sting where he was messaging online with teenage girls (got busted cause of the "girls" was a cop). That kind of made him famous as it was in the news; but I guess that doesn't even count as he didn't attend the high school. Nevermind
I'm unconsoled I'm lonely, I am so much better than I used to be.
