    Put all the postseason crap here

  • #2
    an absolutely PERFECT end to Rivers' career. it had all of the elements:

    - aggressively stupid coaching, dialed up to 11 whenever the Colts got into the red zone;
    - countless dropped passes and stupid penalties by teammates;
    - lost every "50-50" call and an INT of BUF overturned by a stupid penalty, and another barely needed to be reversed re possession;
    - still had a chance on the very last play;
    - and yes, Rivers' own overthrow on 4th and goal at the 4 in the second quarter that led to a 14-point swing.

    when Eli tossed uncatchable balls in the postseason, Tyree would pin one against a helmet, or Plaxico would extend his arms like Mr. Fantastic, or Manningham would pull one out of his arse.

    when Rivers did - they don't get caught.

    a bizarre parallel set of careers for two guys who were traded for each other on Draft Day.

      Unless Rivers wants to retire, I doubt he's done at all.

      Rams-Seattle notes:
      - Pete Carroll and his staff was totally outcoached today.
      - Cam Akers finished just about every run he had.
      - I was really impressed how well the Rams defense played when Donald was hurt.
      - Hope Kupp's injury isn't as bad as it looked.

        Bills QB Josh Allen became the fifth player in NFL history with a passing, rushing and receiving touchdown in the postseason. The others are QB Nick Foles, WR Julian Edelman, QB Kordell Stewart and RB Freeman McNeil.

          Rivers is done with the Colts not done with football.

          I really hope he does not want to come to Chicago.

            you should let Rivers know about both!

            https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/p...back-for-2021/

            Frank Reich said following Saturday's loss that he wants the 39-year-old Rivers back for the 2021 season. Rivers, however, said that he has not made a decision on his future. Rivers will either play an 18th NFL season or he will begin his career as a high school head coach.

            "If it's God's will that I'm in Indy with the Colts next year, then I'll be here," Rivers said, via Zak Keefer of The Athletic. "If not, I'll be on the sideline with a ballcap on my head, coaching [high school] football."

                How did this team win 12 games?

                Never mind.

                    Teams used to be able to get away with making mistakes against the Browns. Not any more. They have a good team now. The Steelers and the rest of the NFL better start taking them more seriously.

                      Yes, the Browns are better but that wasn't my takeaway from last night. After watching that game it seemed obviously that the Steelers are just bad. 1-5 in their last 6 games, including losses to the Bengals and Redskins. It's really surprising how bad a team can be that started 11-0.

                        So you're saying the Browns is NOT the Browns?

                          Packers sign Jared Veldheer to play OT. Last week, Veldheer started for the Colts. Great move - Veldheer knows the offense (was with the Packers last year) and was a solid veteran for the Pack last year.

                            Coach Tomlin needs to have a talk with JuJu about not providing motivational soundbites to opponents before he becomes "AB media disaster 2.0". I think there is still time to guide him in the right direction.

                              I was thinking the same about JuJu. Though I wasn't thinking of the term "have a talk". I was thinking more of orifice ripping, spittle flying, two inches from his face chew out session.
