    For a team that is supposed to be spending

    For a team that is supposed to be spending this year it sure seems like the Mets have done very little.

    I would have thought that Realmuto and Sugano would be targets but they are not. I never thought they needed an outfielder. Bauer is overpriced. They could use one of the available infielders too tighten up the defense but the hype led me to expect more.

    I would consider that the agents for the big guys are suggesting they play the waiting game. If I'm advising Realmuto or Bauer, I let the teams compete with one another. Consider LeMahieu -- he and the Yankees were $25M apart, and now the Dodgers are interested. Dollars to donuts, he goes to the Yankees for closer than what he was looking for ($100M) than what the Yankees were offering ($75M)
