    Wong had a really good year and was basically their only lefty. Kind of shocking.

    Defensively, he's great, and you're right, he was the only lefty until Carlson came up. But his power cratered this year - OBP was pretty solid, but SLG was awful. I suspect a lot of teams are going to be jettisoning talent in the $6 - 12 mil range who are good but not great contributors.

    yep, I'm thinking this will not be a normal off-season ... if the stories re: financial pressures are to be believed there could a lot of teams giving rookies a chance next year (with their minimum wage salaries) in favour of those mid-tier guys
