That last question was a softball. It was meant for each candidate to put their best foot forward with something positive and reassuring. trump answer was word salad, but with dark measure of scare tactics hate mongering. Think about how he muffed up such a gift question.
Trump did better than last debate, but that is grading on a curve. Last debate trump strategy was to steamroll, interrupt every single response from biden, and clash with moderator. It would have been difficult for him to perform worse unless he opted to stand at podium and throw paper towels at audience, while shouting "take that, I am king of the world muther puckers".
