Fishing advice

Man, I would love to do that. Lots of great rivers around here. But that would have to be a solo sport since my kids are so young.

Hmmm, I hear you on the trust factor. But my 8 year old and I took 2 kayaks on a 3-4 mile trip last month. She did great and it was a blast. She wore a life vest, and as a sit on top there's really no big risk (if it turns over, which it never did in 2 months of use, she's in the ocean with a life vest on with me 10 feet away). When she got tired, I tied hers to mine and pulled her for a little while. It was a blast and even my typically anxious wife wasn't concerned.

1 20’’ skipjack herring (bait fish, fun to catch)
2 17-18’’ seatrout
1 20’’ redfish

Last 3 are keepers and in my freezer.

I went fishing on the Chain O Lakes a week ago and got nothing. Always good to hear of success.

I have been to Waupaca many times in my youth and a few times in the last 5 years. Never to fish. Love that area.

But this Chain is in Northern Ill.

I realize I havent kept this thread up to date in a couple years.

I've gotten quite a bit better at fishing since this started.

My last trip I managed to get a personal best redfish kayak fishing 100 yards off my back porch down there on Padre.
