  • yet another RJEL team report

I decided that with keeping 5 pitchers (plus Ohtani) and all my rookie pitchers who may help this year I would spend nearly all my money on hitters. Also figured to rely on trades/FAAB for saves.

Didn't want to be stuck holding cash when all the good players were gone so I got Arenado, Baez, Rizzo, and Stanton in the first 20 minutes, burning about 90% of my cash. Limped home from there trying to salvage what I could and planning to trade Rookies and next years picks (I have 5 in the first 2 rounds) for saves and most likely speed. And to fill some holes. Could have gone a lot better, but could have gone worse. Not sure why I ended up with Aquino or C. Davis. Hope they playball soon.

You probably spent about right on the big guys, Stanton is, as usual, a boom or a bust. He could hit 45, he could play 10 games, only the magic 8 ball knows. Nolan is as consistent as you can get, as is Baez...Rizzo MIGHT be getting a little brittle, but then again, maybe not. Solid as a rock when healthy. Don't like the Davis, Aquino, or Urias buys, but at those prices, they're totally disposable.

Pitching is very good, although I don't know if I would have kept Severino, but he won't hurt you either. Cheap 1 buck pitchers that are also disposable, as are your reserves. Some help on the farm with Skubal and Keller, Pearson might be up in mid-season, whenever that may be. Whitley is a wild card...could be great, could be a head case. But he'll likely get a shot this year.

Possible upper division team, but without a lot of help, probably not in the money.

ooops. Severino was drafted, not kept. I do have a bunch of holes, will need to be active on the trade market

Besides punting saves, I have you only weak in stolen bases, and as such, a money team as of now. Good job outta you.
