Major League Baseball announced Friday that the entire weekend series between the Cardinals and Cubs has been cancelled.

Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that Monday's game between the Pirates and Cardinals in St. Louis has been postponed.

The Cardinals haven't played a game since July 29.

ESPN's Buster Olney reports that the upcoming three-game series between the Cardinals and Pirates has been "canceled."

As first reported by Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times, Major League Baseball is considering setting up a bubble-type layout for the postseason and World Series.

ESPN's Jeff Passan has confirmed the report and adds that MLB is probably leaning more toward a multi-city plan for the rounds leading up to the World Series, rather than trying to do it in one location throughout. With no fans currently attending games, and with that likely to continue through the end of the year for all major sports, it just makes sense to stage games at self-contained neutral sites. Passan notes that the COVID-19 outbreaks on the Cardinals and Marlins "illustrated how a similar scenario could upend the playoffs." Southern California, Chicago, and New York are said to be in consideration because of the availability of multiple MLB facilities.

Cardinals vs. White Sox on Friday is postponed.

The Cardinals are finally going to play on Saturday after 16 days off with a scheduled doubleheader vs the White Sox. As long as they don't go to the casino or strip club on Friday night lol.

This follows Thursday's game between the Mets and Marlins being postponed due to two (1 player/1 coach) positive COVID-19 tests for the Mets.
