  • Keep 3 of these 4 Rookies--NL-only

    Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | PIT
    Monte Harrison OF | MIA
    Sixto Sanchez P | MIA
    Andres Gimenez SS | NYM

I can keep 3 of 4, all at no cost to my auction money, all will be $10 if activated except Sixto Sanchez, who will be $15.
Who do you think will contribute in a meaningful way this year?
Hayes seems to have a pretty clear path to the majors, with only Moran ahead of him.
Same with Sanchez on a rebuilding Miami team.
Same might be said about Harrison, but he is a complete mystery: is he a player or not?
Gimenez will have to play so well that the Mets move Rosario over to 2b when Cano bombs or 3b if McNeil proves not to be a 3b'man.
    Thoughts?
    Bearin' up!

I think you read on this is dead on. The clear cut here is Gimenez. Easy decision. Of the whole set, I'd bet n Harrison giving you the most this year.

not easy but I think I'd dump Gimenez. in addition to near-term playing time, SS Ronny Mauricio might be the Mets' best prospect. he'll be on High A this year so is a couple of years away, but I don't see a long window - if any for Gimenez.

Harrison is the most likely other candidate, but if he gets healthy he might have some giddyup in him still.....

Another vote for cutting Giminez. The other 3 should have greater opportunities on Pirates and Marlins.

Slightly off-topic and somewhat hijacked, but, projecting two years out:

            1B: Alonso
            2B: Gimenez
            SS: Mauricio
            3B: McNeil
            LF: Nimmo/JD Davis
            CF: Rosario
            RF: Conforto

Thanks, gents! I do hate to let talent go, only to have him bite me next year.
Harrison, only because he has had some chances and squandered each of them, would be my fallback cut in case Gimenez catches fire in the 2 weeks before cut-down day.
Anyone see Hayes developing some power in the near future? That seems to all he lacks. His daddy had terrific power, so maybe there is hope!
              Bearin' up!

No, unless his daddy gets in a time machine and hits for him,, power from a Hayes is a long shot . But he is a solid avg hitter, with stellar defense who should play every day, so there is some value in that.

for some reason I missed that each guy will be 10 except Sanchez who would be 15.

even in NL-only - well, I don't think you need to lose too many seconds of sleep over this choice.

No, I can't afford to miss any more sleep than I already do! 2 shoulders await surgery. Again.
