the Pads get another OF ???It certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence. -
Assuming a trade for Merrifield or Profar is coming. I like Grisham fine but still don't care for this trade for the Padres at all. Urias won't be 23 until next Summer and still has significant, Jose Ramirez-esque upside. He has great on-base skills and I don't understand selling low on him after 300 major league PA's -- shades of what they did with Anthony Rizzo back in the day. As for the Davies/Lauer part, I suppose the Padres think Davies has a chance to be a poor man's Kyle Hendricks and do well with that infield defense but I don't see a significant difference in value between him and Lauer, except that Davies is closer to arbitration and free agency and Lauer likely has a bit more ceiling. I think this is one the Padres will regret.Comment
