The owners have made their message clear to everyone except Mike Moustakis during the last two off-seasons. If you are not a marquee player and you refuse the QO, you will end up taking a pay cut.

Braves last week, also signed relief pitcher Will Smith to a three-year, $39 million contract with a team option for 2023. Although, the Braves say that Melancon is still the closer, it's probably just a matter of time before Smith takes over.

$73M seems like a lot for a 31 year old catcher.

Rotoworld is stating that it is a franchise record.

It's a large number but not unprecedented.

Russell Martin signed a 5 year, 82mm contract at age 32
Brian McCann signed a 5 year, 85mm contract at age 29
Yadier Molina signed a 3 year, 60mm contract at age 34.

This one seems in line with the market.

The Rays signed C Mike Zunino to a one-year, $4.5 million deal with an option for 2021. The Rays hitting coach is really going to have to earn his money next year as Zunino is coming off of a career worst slash line of .165/.232/.312 in 266 at bats.
