He's in the final year of his contract, which was 6/60. Even if Cleveland pulls some of the weight, that's an expensive roll of the dice.

As Ken said, he's under team control for 2 years. To be able to land a potential ace if he bounces back and to get it on a very short term deal seems rather ideal to me. I'd rather have Kluber at his price and risk over a Cole/Strasburg contract that could and probably will be a disaster in a few years. Seems like an inexpensive roll of the dice compared to the alternative.

I needed that start they didn't give Civale at the end of last year when I was in the fantasy playoffs. I don't know though.. I worry about injury with Kluber I don't know why. I liked Brantley but that guy was practically injured every year until the last two years.
