has anyone seen that Dominos Pizza commercial where they promise if they screw up your order they have special procedures in place to fix it?

has it really come to the point that companies expect to 'screw up'? ..im just say'n. if I was a customer I'd be thinking, ok I'm going into this expecting to get screwed, but it's ok because there's a chance they will fix the pizza?

I think you are referring to the "carryout insurance" commercial. It's not if THEY screw up your order, it applies when YOU do. For example, if you drop your pizza on the way to your car.

Nully is correct. They have both what Nully said and what you said:

At Domino’s, we take pride in delivering hand-crafted pizzas hot and freshly made, so if we mess up, we take it personally. With Domino’s new Delivery Insura...

Nice, I haven't seen that one. Sounds like they have both. And I agree, the one where they screw up your order is just odd. Of course they should fix it, why would they feel the need to advertise that?

I've got some nieces and nephews from my ex's side of the family that I send gift cards to on their birthdays. Whenever I go for cards I usually end up buying a few that I like so I have them at home for when a birthday rolls around. I've gotten to the point in my life where I stock up belated cards too, because I know that I'm going to be late more often than not. I see this as self-awareness rather than a sad character flaw. (okay, I see it as both really)

Why the hell would I spike my pizza?

Send some over a year early, that'll confuse them.

Domino's beat themselves up 5 or 6 years ago, iirc, running on an ad campaign on the premise that "ok, we know our pizza sucks so we will change the ingredients."

now, I pretty much had stopped ever ordering from them many years ago (it's a natural part of middle age, especially in a pizza-rich environment).

but some nitwit in marketing didn't realize that there are liable to be a lot more people like me who decided, "thanks for telling me you'll add more garlic, so I'll never order from you again" than there are people who decided, "I was kind of on the fence with the whole Domino's idea - but now that I hear that you are adding more garlic, I'm a believer! I'll buy me 3 pizzas!"

in other pizza news, apparently one large pizza has more pizza than 2 mediums - it's a circumference thing.

so that's why you see so many pitches for "two mediums" - it does seem like you'd get more pizza.
