No one, including sanctuary cities or your brother or whomever should not follow laws they don’t agree with. Pretty simple concept.
Thing is, it's not the protest itself--it's the inconsistency of position that makes it false.

Those protesting against lawful statutes (the lock down) are the first ones to point to the law and ask you to obey (immigration, etc.)

Protest all you want, but when others do it--support those protests as well or you lose any moral highroad, which of course--you know I'm all about.
If I whisper my wicked marching orders into the ether with no regard to where or how they may bear fruit, I am blameless should a broken spirit carry those orders out upon the innocent, for it was not my hand that took the action merely my lips which let slip their darkest wish. ~Daniel Devereaux 2011

I think maybe we can agree that folks shouldn’t pick and choose what laws they choose to follow.
I have no problem with people legally protesting anything (though I may not agree with what they are protesting).

I don't agree with the first

I do agree with the second.

You know the quote An Unjust Law is No Law at All. And yes, I decide which is just and unjust in my life because too many people making and enforcing the laws are anything BUT for the greater good.

Follow along lest you make yourself look like the ignorant dick you are.

There is a difference between supporting the right to protest and supporting the subject matter of the protest or the way of the protest. If a protest turns to violence it is morally correct to protect against that violence. No matter the subject.

That's my point exactly--I'm just point out the hypocrisy of those Protesting the stay at home orders, NOT the fact they're protesting, How or Why.

I agree with your second point.

I agree with your first point with the caveat if they use their free will to break laws they should expect the consequences. I break the law every day that I drive. I go over the speed limit. I do not justify my speeding with the others in Chicago are doing it. I speed because I like it or I am in a hurry. I expect to get tickets and I pay them. It is part of doing what I do. If the penalty was immediate loss of license for first offense, I believe I would drive the speed limit as I like to drive more than not driving at all.

Most laws that I obey are because they are moral and I would not want to violate that morality or the law. I would not steal from you as that is against my morality and the law. I would not lie to you as it is against my morality. I would speed because it is not against my morality. I pay the fine as it is against the law.

I hate hypocrisy. I especially hate it if I am the one doing it.

                      I don't believe I am--was that what you're intimating?

Or did I read that wrong.

Nope. That was me being transparent. I work hard on that flaw to get it out of me.

It is also why I have a hard time with politics and some of those discussions. Plenty to go around on all sides.

Thanks for Clarifying (or should I say Clearifying since you're being transparent)

                          • Ahmaud Arbery, the jogger who was lynched in Georgia, was previously harassed, intimidated, and attempted to be tased by police (taser malfunctioned) for simply sitting in a park... the officer who attempted to tase Arbery admits in the video that he did so AFTER Arbery had been searched for weapons, while in company of another officer. Dealing out pain is so fun to these sick fucks. I've seen it first-hand.

Much more police corruption was uncovered in the investigation of the Arbery case.

                            https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...r-2017-georgia

The Glynn county police department was already facing local political pressure to disband before the Arbery shooting due to a string of recent corruption scandals.

In March the department’s police chief and three high ranking officers were indicted on perjury charges related to allegations they ignored evidence that an officer from the department was consorting with a local drug dealer.

The department was forced to disband a specialist narcotics department in 2019 after an investigator was found to have had sex with two confidential informants. The department found evidence of the misconduct in 2017 but failed to investigate. In 2018 the department lost certifications with two law enforcement bodies, the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police and the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement.
The reason they harassed, intimidated, and attempted to physically harm Arbery for simply sitting in a public park, was under suspicion of drug activity. The police themselves were doing the drug deals and refused to investigate when they knew! It's fucking disgusting. The entire department run by scumbags, for the benefit of other scumbags. Cops are just like the rest of humanity, in it for themselves first and foremost. That's why the title of this thread is 100% true.
Larry David was once being heckled, long before any success. Heckler says "I'm taking my dog over to fuck your mother, weekly." Larry responds "I hate to tell you this, but your dog isn't liking it."

                            • So many videos coming out of scumbag police during these protests. Here's one of 2 police cars driving into crowds, sending people flying and or running them over! Gee, more bad apples I guess.

                              Fuck the police!
