    Stroman to the Mets

No word on the Jays return, although JP Morosi says Syndergaard is NOT a part of the deal.

Jays get pitching prospects Anthony Kay and Simeon Woods-Richardson, the #4 and #6 pitching prospects in their system.

Surprised that they couldn't get a bigger headliner...maybe they try and flip him yet before the deadline if they can't deal Thor?

It would be a great play, if they can. Neither of the guys they gave are the sort that will really be missed all that much.

Stroman is a Long Island guy who grew up a Mets fan.
it's irrelevant - except to the Mets.

I expect Thor to go to the Padres for CF Margot and a stud prospect.

that would mean the Mets improved their already reasonable rotation AND their awful defense.

if the prospect is as good as they just gave up, it might be - dare I say - smart.

it's a shame for the Yankees that their GM appears to be on vacation. the Mets rotation without Stroman already was better than the Yankees rotation.

yeah, it would have been nice to get the kinda haul that TB got for Archer but it was unrealistic. Richardson seems to have a pretty high ceiling, but there's always that tinstaapp thing, esp with 18-yr-olds.

Apparently Stroman threw a shit fit in the clubhouse when he found out he was traded to the Mets, as he was hoping to be traded to a contender. Ouch. Welcome to New York!
