Yeah, I don't see the fit either, just another big slugger with no position to play. Does he take time away from Voit? Do they downgrade their OF defense with Stanton out there full time? Not to mention the potential wear and tar on Stanton. Does one of the few leftys (Gardner) become a part time player? I assume that Morales gets the boot, but what else do they do?

A curious move, IMO...they need starting pitching, not another bat.

I am hoping it doesn’t hurt Voit’s PT; kinda assume Stanton plays OF mostly. But not sure how it will play out.

The likely scenario is an OF of Stanton, Judge & Hicks, Voit at 1B and EE at DH. That means Gardner & Frazier are the big losers here. Morales also will probably be DFA'd.

And no DH for Sanchez when he is not catching.

seems like Yankees have less leverage now on a deal, a la Rotisserie ball.

hard to claim you're giving up much when your trade chip is in AAA

Cause minor leaguers are never traded? Sorry, but this makes zero sense. Every single GM in baseball knows why Frazier is in the minors. It's a roster squeeze and he's the only left with options. He's proven that he can hit at the major league level so far this year; 200 ABs is not a large sample size but it's a decent chunk. This is nothing like fantasy baseball because the team trading for Frazier has the ability to promote him and play him everyday.
I'm unconsoled I'm lonely, I am so much better than I used to be.

That was my reaction as well. I think we overplay the fantasy comparisons.

Seriously, is this the start of a fire sale?

For the Mariners? That started this past off-season.
