Professional baseball gamblers have worked with front offices before, e.g., Mickey Lichtman, aka MGL, with the Cardinals. I'm not saying I think that's a good thing, just that it's not without precedent.

Plus the fact that sports gambling was legalized by the Supreme Court (well, at least allowing states to legalize it), so it should no longer be the pariah it once was.

interesting that people were confused by his final bet.

he could only win if she missed, so he set himself up to barely clinch beating the strong 3rd-place player. ever the professional gambler, he made the right play.

I figured he would lose by beating himself (betting big and answering wrong multiple times), as Ken Jennings did at the end of his run. But no, he got outplayed.

                          or did he ...

a great blog I read tackled this ...

Did James make the right Final Jeopardy bet?

he addresses the Emma Mindfuck Strategy, the James Double Mindfuck strategy, and yes, even touches on the Emma Triple Mindfuck Strategy ...
It certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence.

Anyone been watching since Ken Jennings took over as host? He is doing an admirable job, but still it is weird to hear a new voice of Jeopardy.

Agree. He’s a little robotic right now, but I think he’ll grow into the time quickly if they let him.
