I’m down with letters and decades combo. I’m less enthused for a franchise draft, I guess, but sounds like that option may be a no-go anyways.

Alright ... I'll get a Letters / Decades Combo SS ready, and we go for an Xmas / NY start.

We need wizardry SS work done if we are to do franchises, which personally I'd be done for ... maybe next?

So some discussion points before we get going:

1. I was able to fairly easily W/K punt last time around. The influx of low ratio 2010's pitchers and the extra closers from that period made the strat strong again despite the IP minimums. We probably need to revisit that a little bit.

2. We are doing a Letter Decade combo draft ... this was the next draft in line when we finished the last, so I figured we'd just continue on. Still hoping for a Franchise draft, but I really need help getting that data. I'd like it if we could do that while we do this draft ... we have most of the parameters from the previous Franchise drafts, we can piggy back that IMO.

3. The last Letter / Decade combo draft (VD6):

Basic Format:

Positions:


C, C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, CI, MI, OF, OF, OF, OF, OF, UT
11 x P


2 Wildcards (25 players to be drafted in total)
14 of the 15 eligible hitting decades must be selected
11 of the 14 eligible pitching decades must be selected

This looks good to me, considering the obvious limitations of a combo draft.

I don't think we need to really consider any bells and whistles here.

I have the SS striped down, and just need to adjust for the final player numbers and the 2019 stats.

I'm not too sure about the W/K punt thing. It didn't strike me as a huge issue, honestly, because I think if more than one team tried it it'd be tough to pull off. So you're running a risk by even trying. Really, we could eliminate saves as a category. Voila.

How does one "sign up"?

Who is pulling the stats update? Should we do a point in time full refresh of all stats?

I don't have access to that data, I can't. Anyone who can ...

If you want you could grab all the numbers from 2000 onwards, and that should cover all the new stats ... Eliminate the ineligible players and BY's, and I can reformat and just add to the SS.
