I'm not a cheerleader. I think they're constantly tripping over their own feet. I just don't think they're deliberately trying to help Buttigieg and hurt Sanders, since as I noted above, I think Buttigieg has no chance without Black support and thus keeping him alive only hurts Biden and Bloomberg.

That would make sense if they weren't trying to foster every condition to lead to a brokered convention possible.

They're not trying to elevate a winner, they're just hoping to keep Sanders as far below the 1990 delegate threshold to win the nomination as possible before super delegates can pick their choice on the 2nd round.

          It's really not IMO.
If DMT didn't exist we would have to invent it. There has to be a weirdest thing. Once we have the concept weird, there has to be a weirdest thing. And DMT is simply it.

Yes, I know nothing penetrates your bubble. You have demonstrated for years in here that anything that doesn’t fit your world view isn’t worthy of your time.
Carville has had a rather outsized influence in American politics for a couple of decades. Agree or disagree with him, his take on things is interesting and relevant. Shallow is the individual that can’t recognize that.

            • The read that biden has already starved all oxygen out the best mainstream realistic candidates in booker, bennet, bullock seems depressing but accurate.

Hey DMT, there you go being a dismissive asshole without provocation again.

                Stop being such a troll.

                • I think James Carville is an out of touch dinosaur. He made his living on a reputation as the ultimate centrist (married a Republican... whoop-dee-doo), so he's tied his entire being into the value of political compromise, left and right should both look to the center to find agreement. I disagree with him on basically everything.

I understand his primary concern about going too far left, but I think he's completely out of touch with the electorate, and I also believe Sanders will modify his most extreme messages to cater towards a general election anyway. Sanders' rhetoric on the border will reassure centrists, as he fights hard against the notion of open borders. I think he'll be okay on many of the issues Carville fears.

It seems like you are really banking on Sanders bringing out the Millennial voters in numbers never seen before. Maybe he will. I sure hope he does if he wins the primaries. But if you are looking at the historically traditional electorate, with many more older voters than young, I don't think he's completely out of touch with that electorate. Your sense of how progressive the electorate is accurate ONLY if he and others are missing a REALLY big swell of voter turn out among the under 35 set. Again, maybe it is coming with Sanders. The uncertainty of it scares me, because without it, I think Trump pushes the taxes and socialism and beats Sanders.

                    • Last 4 days the Boston Globe/Suffolk New Hampshire poll has gone:
                      Wednesday: Sanders +9
                      Thursday: Sanders +6
                      Friday: Sanders +1
                      Saturday: Buttigieg +1.
Not sure if I’m buying it, but if true, that would be quite a surge.

                      • It must be a pro Youtube Sanders conspiracy, cuz I keep getting good Sanders videos in my feed. In this one from 1995, he looks pretty much exactly like he does today. And, big surprise, he was just as progressive then as now. It is a good look on him at a time before being pro-gays in the military was fully accepted. And for calling out that guy for using a slur.

clearly you are obsessed with him and they have picked up on it.

                          • Archer is a Bernie Bro, who knew? This is Bernie's pitch for how to pay for M4All. The costs are scary to me and many, many others, but morally it is the one (and only) socialist solution I support. I believe it is a basic human right and I wish we could implement it without it costing a ton more for middle class folks, which is the fear and what keeps it from happening. Those against M4All, poke holes in how paying for it is laid out here. I want to hear opposing views.

We already cant afford it and yet we pay for it. It is more a matter of who gets paid

                              • The premise makes sense--it should cost less to cut out middle men making billions and reducing half a trillion in paperwork and processing a year. I guess the only thing left unsaid is when he says "tax the rich" how far down will he actually go before he gets what he needs to fund it? Can taxing just millionaires get it done? Nots, I think you have shown the math on this suggesting it is not possible. Will the middle class folks who have employer health insurance end up not just losing choices, but paying more? That assumption is pretty much why getting this passed is impossible. Is it valid?
