                Actually quite the opposite, early promotions are the rarity, typically you see these closer to mid season.

                Robert struggled in A+ last year, so it was not a surprise to see him go back there. He's had a total of only 64 games above rookie ball at this point, so a AA move is aggressive (although appropriate), but it's not like they are moving him slowly.

                  There was good reason to promote him out of preseason. He was recovering from an injury last season but played well against higher level competition in AFL then lit up training camp.

                    Organizations generally want a player to repeat a level that they struggled with, at least for a small amount of time. This assignment was no surprise and the promotion wasn't delayed by any means. Looks very typical.

                                I've heard that from outside evaporators when Tucker was struggling, but not actually from the Astros. Is that actually from an Astros source or just speculation?
