Some controversy regarding the Packers' handling of Aaron Rodgers: NFL teams can only place players on IR a second time if they have a new injury that is believed to cost the player at least 6 games. But Rodgers was placed on IR again after his Week 15 game, after which the Packers publicly stated that he was fine, only sore, and no new injury was announced. NFL rules say if a player is placed fraudulently on IR, he must be released, and now other NFL teams are complaining about this to Goodell.

That's pretty interesting, so I had to look it up. Using pro-football-reference.com's season finder, I found:
- there are only 42 seasons where a TE had more than 1,000 yards receiving;
- only 3 TEs had 1,000+ yards receiving prior to the merger;
- there are four teams that just missed: 2007 Cowboys (Marion Barber was 25 yards short); 1981 Vikings (Tommy Kramer was 88 yards short); 2004 Chiefs (Priest Holmes was 108 yards short); 2007 Browns (Derek Anderson was 213 yards short)
