Worst thing the nba does in regards to fan interest is have an 8 day lay off from the end of the conference finals to the first game of the championship series. I'll be honest, I forgot the season was still on...

There are massive logistics involved with setting up Finals off-court events, charity dinners, corporate sponsor parties, and so on. I've seen it firsthand.

I do agree that it's an issue anyway. and if you wondered why it took about 20 years before they scrapped the ineffective (from a competitive standpoint) 2-3-2 home game setup, same reason. the league could settle into one place for almost a week and get a lot of business done. the parties and such were big hits to sponsors.

if both conference finals go 7, there's nary a glitch. here, woulda been a 10-day break if not for the Cavs (and most fans) falling asleep late in Game 3 of the last round.

LeBron and the Warriors are so epic that I don't mind them getting rejuvenated. as worthless as the last 8 months were, this is a great series.
