    • The Rockies have scored just 7 runs in their last 10 road games -- 2nd lowest in a 10 game stretch ever -- and they are 3-22 in road games this season, which is on pace for the worst mark in MLB history.

      • What an awful organization. I don’t think any amount of their praying will fix the issue.

        • The only thing that could be more humbling and embarrassing than being shut out twice in one day by the Pirates would be if the games had been at Coors.

          • Why are they playing Adams over Cron again?

If I whisper my wicked marching orders into the ether with no regard to where or how they may bear fruit, I am blameless should a broken spirit carry those orders out upon the innocent, for it was not my hand that took the action merely my lips which let slip their darkest wish. ~Daniel Devereaux 2011

              • Austin Gomber in his last 7 starts:

                42.1 ip
                41k
                24 h
                3 bb
                1.28 era
                0.76 whip

And that includes 3 starts (1 er) against the Padres and 3 starts (0 er) at Coors Field. Any pitcher who has success against those difficult opponents has my attention.

I have seen stretches of pitching greatness only to learn that it is unsustainable.

I do not mind taking a chance in the endgame or even a cheap closer, but that is with the intention of flipping them as soon as they are hot. It is when I have false hope that I fall to temptation, do not stick with the plan only to get scorched.

                  • Gomber in 180 career ip 17 homers. im silly but that's one of my main indicators. before the juiced ball a HR/9 was elite, and nowadays im willing to squint and go 20 per 100 ip. should change in Coors, previously in STL that's a pitcher friendly park. 4th rd draft pick and I defer to STL when drafting pitchers because they seem to be good at it.

who knows but giving up 1 homer every 10 innings is elite.

                    • I admit I am not a patient man when it comes to stuff like this, but what is the ever-loving F are the Rockies waiting for to start dealing? Jon Gray is on one of the best stretches of his life right now, let's get him on a real team already. In fact, most of their trade candidates are trending up right now...

You would think that C.J. would take whatever contract the Rockies want to offer him this winter.

Rockies: We're prepared to offer you...
C.J. Cron: Yeah, whatever, where do i sign.

heh- he already did that this spring and signed a minor league deal with Colorado. Now, I would think he is supposed to cash in on the success.
