  • So it looks like Fuentes to 3B, McMahon to 2B, Hampson staying in the outfield/rover role and continuing to tease everyone... oh and they added Chris Owings to the 26-man, presumably to share time at 2B/3B.

      Classic Rox move. Awful.

What's the awful part? Rodgers is hurt and Hampson/Hilliard will platoon in CF. Seems to make sense to me.

        • Just not a believer in McMahon and Fuentes. Would rather see Hilliard and Hampson have free run.

Agree. I mean, at this point, why not just let Hampson play 2B every day until Rodgers comes back, Hilliard in CF, and McMahon at 3B. Sure, Fuentes and Owings are nice depth, but it's not like the Rox have a chance of getting anything other than clubbed in the NL West, so let the young hitters play and see what they've got.
I'm just here for the baseball.

Well that just makes too much sense for the Rockies. They’re the team that overpaid a SS to play 1B...then brought in a 2B to play 1B so they could move the SS/1B to the OF...all the while blocking the PT of young players that needed major league experience.

I imagine Owings will start fairly often against tough LHPs.

                          LOL!!!!!

Whenever he comes up, I hope he has a solid first outing and generates a lucrative speculative FAAB bid from a contender in my league.

                          • The Rockies announced Monday that Jeff Bridich has stepped down as GM. The team will name an interim general manager and plans to conduct a search for a permanent replacement following the season.

Greg Feasel has been named club president/chief operating officer and will oversee baseball operations in addition to leading the club's business operations.
