They are a rural Russian delicacy and also slang for Russian hackers. I am hoping enough of those hackers like Sanders to ensure his victory.

The only change I'd suggest to Masher's excellent comments, are that it's really the perception of Socialism and taxes ... the reality of it doesn't matter. Which is why Slasher's question of what percent of people would actually pay more taxes is irrelevant.
It certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence.

Well, not if Bernie want's to educate people on their misconceptions, if they exist. Messaging is critical for him. That's his challenge

Lot's of people. When I was COO of my local public schools, we very often had many more people arguing for new programs and against budget cuts than we had people advocating against tax increases. And it plays out on so many ballot issues as well. A great many people are willing to pay more taxes if they believe it will be spent on something of value.

I know there's at least one Junkie who's stated Sanders is a no go.
Who here who disapproves of Trump's performance overall would still vote for Trump (or would vote 3rd party) if Sanders is the Democratic nominee?

Yeah, I suspect it is 60-80%, but I haven't really seen any numbers. Of course lots of people would also get more benefits.

                • Trump is so freakin' terrible and scary and dishonest. I can't understand any argument that would allow a Democrat or Independent to prefer him to Sanders.

He truly frightens me. I don't see how his supporters don't see it, but then again, that is how despots rise to power. He'd rip up the constitution if he could. It is so ironic that his supporters are allegedly the most fervent believers in the rule of law, including the constitution. The man so clearly wants to be Putin or Un. He so clearly wants everyone to be loyal to him rather than the rule of law. Millions don't give a fuck.

And that aside, he dog whistles the hell out of not only white nationalists, but misogynists, and millions of white women don't give a fuck either. I don't get any of it. If Obama had just once said of a female rival, "she opened that fresh mouth of hers" or called the fbi scum, or lamented that security didn't beat protesters or, or, or, or....the outrage on the right would be deafening. But they all sit on their hands in silence. GOP indeed.

I dont suppose there is a meaningful survey that addresses this, but I have to believe it is a lot less than 80%.
Last year in our county, we had a question to slightly raise property taxes for 4 (I think) years to increase teacher pay (3rd lowest paying county in Florida). It passed 51-49. I think like a lot of issues in the country, raising taxes is at best a 50/50 issue.

I was talking about the percent of people that would pay more taxes

Me, I guess. Didn’t like Trump last time and didn’t vote for Hillary. Don’t like Trump anymore this time, but am not voting for Sanders. Probably vote Biden or Bloomberg as an anti-Trump but I wouldn’t imagine it’s surprising that Libertarians usually vote for the Libertarian candidate any more than it isn’t surprising that Republicans are mostly going to vote for Trump or Democrats are mostly going to vote for a guy like Menendez in NJ. (If Gary Johnson is the nominee, I will have to re-evaluate that last sentence).

Thanks. So to clarify, you don't like Trump and wouldn't vote Trump regardless of the Democratic nominee, but your choice to either vote for the Democratic nominee or to vote 3rd party could, in fact, hinge on whether the Democratic nominee is a perceived moderate like Biden or Bloomberg, versus a perceived progressive or democratic socialist?
