Isn’t that true of any SOTU? Obama’s speeches were watched by Obama supporters who liked Obama’s speech and touted his speeches favorable polling. Same situation here.
The takeaway for me was the increased viewership (up 10% over last year) which is unusual, but likely explained by intrigue of the shutdown.

Fair point, though I rarely have actually watched them regardless of who is in office. I just wait till the next day and look for serious policy proposals ( ones where there is an actually plan or on it's way instead of applause lines ), foreign policy statements ( Bush 02 - Post 9/11, Axis of evil was one I watched) and yes, any interesting notable click news related to it ( Obama saying Citizens United "will open the floodgates for special interests – including foreign corporations – to spend without limit in our elections." and Alito mouthing 'not true').

I find the constant ovations to be intolerable, even if its things I agree with. I reminds me of the stories of who would stop clapping for Stalin first. Get on with it or submit in writing.

a 78-year-old Speaker of the House clapping like a cross between a harp seal and a sullen teenage girl - well, the quote above speaks for itself.
She is contending it wasn’t sarcastic as many on the left had hoped. I take her at her word.

I presume you mean "you" in the sense of a generic potential voter. If that's the case, the speech did him no harm and made Pelosi the Democrats look very petty. Pelosi also made certain everyone paid attention. Viewership was a new record.

My guess is that viewership was so high because many tuned in to watch the biggest asshole in US Presidential history spew his bullshit.

As may be. Pelosi handed Trump an opportunity and he made the most of it.

Don't kid yourself about the center, as some are doing. There are a lot of people that vote or stay home depending on the candidate. That's the real middle.

Congress agreed on a bi-partisan agreement, which allocates $1.3Bn for border security. Conservative commentators are already howling. Let's see what Dopey does now.

He takes the money as a win - and then announces that the border is a drug trafficking corridor and gets the rest under Title 10 I believe is what I heard of the drug war rules or some such.
It is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse of our immigration laws we have seen in recent years and we must stop it.

"When they go low - we go High" great motto - too bad it was a sack of bullshit. DNC election mantra

Trump apparently is looking for Congress to take on drug makers, insurers and hospitals and the transparency on drug prices. Seems like it would be a step in a positive direction to bring prices down. I will admit a bit of frustration that he doesnt provide any "How", but I do believe that this transparency would bring prices down.

If Trump was so fucking ready to drain the swamp then he needs to get cranking on this one. Only took him 2 fucking years. And why did my god damn insurance premium go up again? Fuck Trump.
