Dunno. I speculated on Strickland but it's just a gamble.

Oakland is toast, so I don't see them rushing to put Doolittle out there too soon. Mujica is a free agent at the end of the year. If they think they can increase is value by having him close, they will. If they think he's only marketable as a set-up guy, they will try Pomeranz and hope for the best.

I went with Pom since Mujica might be at the end of his leash.

              • Jepsen to close while Perkins out...

ROTOWORLD: Twins manager Paul Molitor said Wednesday that he expects to use Kevin Jepsen at closer while Glen Perkins (neck) is sidelined. He's the obvious choice. Jepsen has 10 career saves -- including five this season -- and has posted a 2.74 ERA with 40 strikeouts over 49 1/3 innings in 2015. It's not clear at this point how long Perkins, who is back in Minneapolis to undergo an MRI on his neck, will be sidelined, but fantasy owners in need of saves should scoop him up.

                • Pomeranz for the OAK save today... the beginning of a trend? Supposedly Doolittle will be back early next week though, but my guess is they don't make him close right away.

I wouldn't refer to Clippard as nothing else....
That said it's a good move, as would alphabet as a lefty specialist.

                          • Is Hunter Strickland worth a flier as a keeper who'll likely be given a good chance to win the SF closer job out of spring training next year? His one traditional glitch -- the HR ball -- hasn't been a real issue this year. And it's not like Casilla or Romo are the closers of the future there.

I like Strickland, but that's not really the way the Giants do things. They will cycle through the veterans first, Casilla and Romo, and then if that's a failure, Strickland may be next up. He'd be a nice flier, and I guess would probably go for more than $1 in NL only leagues next year, but if he's a closer, it would not be at the outset of the season.
