lookin like RGIII is benched this week....

Yup got an alert that Colt McCoy is the starter for the Redskins this week.
Bob- I'm not exactly sure it would ROCK as you say it Byron.. it may be cool, by typical text book descriptions. Your opinion of this is shallow and poorly constructed, but allow me to re-craft your initial thought into something tangable.

The Redskin train wreck is so bad that they may accomplish what I thought was impossible - pass the Raiders for most dysfunctional organization in the NFL

For pure incompetence, the Raiders are still at the top, but from an incompetence-plus-drama perspective, the Redskins are #1. The Jets may not be far behind.

Jay Cutler performed the BEST of the losing QBs yesterday. Wasn't expecting that.

Oh, I agree, but the Redskins and Jets are gaining (or sinking, as the case may be) down to the Raider level so fast that it beggars the imagination. And the Raiders get some plus points for having a pretty fine draft this past year. Might be blind squirrel finding the acorn and all, but maybe not.

I'd put the Titans in the no category. I think they are gonna see what they've got in mettenburger. As for the bucs they are likely but I wouldn't be surprised to see them go a different way in the first since mccown hasn't been bad since returning to the starting lineup. As for the jets they very likely will but the caveat is things could change along with the front office and coach.

Rams set a team record for points in a shutout half, as they're up 38-0 over the hapless Raiders in the "I'm gonna beat you back to LA " bowl.

                        Line of the day

lotta pushing and shoving at end of a Saints-Steelers play, NFL Red Zone dude says, "looks like a Black Friday skirmish at your local retailer"

                        lol

meanwhile, Bengals win by Marvin Lewis knowing that he can now throw a challenge flag with impunity inside of 2 minutes left. so instead of TB with easy FG to win it in final 20 seconds, delay leads to a belated review - and Bucs had 12 men on field. league changed penalty for dumb/improper challenge in final minute after fiascos last year.

so this was a different fiasco. if you have a timeout left and don't like them not reviewing it upstairs, just toss the flag on the field and let mayhem ensue. that said, tremendous play by Lewis - he took what the league now gives you.

You have to go back to 1980 to find a worse NFL season for the 2 NY teams, as that year they both went 4-12. That was the final year of what's considered to be the worst era in NYG history -- 2 winning seasons, no playoffs from 1965-1980. Heck, that year may look great compared to this season!

that's so long ago, one of the teams wasn't even playing in New Jersey yet!

if Falcons keep up the 4-7 roll today, the Embarrassing Eight will open up some separation, as those NFL announcers like to say. 9th-worst team would have 5 Ws, and the rest of thse chumps might never get that far!
