To be fair, that's the risk you were getting yourself into by acquiring Trout and Haniger (and DeGrom), right? You had to know you were very likely going to have a large IL contingent when you acquired (kept?) those guys.

It sucks, but it's a phoenomenon the past 2 years. In one league I had 6 or 7 guys hurt earlier this year. In another we only have 3 IR spots so I've had to drop several guys with Tatis/Franco/Scherzer/Albies rostered all season, I currently have 5 on IL.

I've noticed it more with pitchers and feel they are breaking down due to a reduced workload the previous 2 seasons.

I spent big bucks on Trout and he's done well for me. I actually just traded for Haniger, knowing he's coming back soon, same as I traded for DeGrom about 6 weeks ago... so yeah it's kinda my fault, but seeing Devers and Story and Trout all go down at once is painful.

I think this is what we can hope for at this point in his career. A portion of the season where he does well and the rest IL time. Whether that's worth big bucks depends on format.
