  • Trade for Trea?

    K Hayes 7Y, Gleyber 7A, Gore 2A

    For

    Trea Turner 53B, Bohm 3A, Gibson 1A

I’m in 1st place and my pitching is a strength, deep staff - Rodon, Woodruff, Severino, Cortes, Gore, Lorenzen, Wells, Junis.

I’d be getting the best player and I need to improve offense but feels like an overpay. I feel like I’m in some leagues Gore would be enough by himself.

I agree -- Gore 2A should be able to fetch multiple top pieces by himself alone. Pass.

I would need more to give up Gore.

Yeah, it is too much. Gleyber is coming around too.

I dont value either Hayes or Gleyber enough for it to make a difference to me. You can make a case for Hayes being the most disappointing fantasy player/prospect across the board. If you can afford to replace Gleyber with Trea Turner (by losing Gore) I think you do it and go for the kill. Let someone else lose with Hayes.

He's on pace for .290/.374 with 77 R, 6 HR, 64 RBI, 22 SB. The HRs are light, but if he picks up that pace slightly, I don't see how that's disappointing at all.

OK, maybe that was hyperbole, but Hayes currently with 2 HR and 7 SB in 180 AB. Yes the avg. is good, but you drafted the guy in the 9th round to be a 15-15 guy at worst for your corner infield. So much hype on him and he is on pace for 6 HR which, from a corner infielder hurts so badly that it isnt worth the SB. As a MI he is solid..??

He is a bust in my view, but OK maybe not the worst disappointment across the board.

I doubt he is a key piece of many top teams in 2022 outside of only leagues.

ETA- but fair enough you made me realize I should be starting him over IKF in the one league I have Hayes because he is putting up better numbers on the whole for a MI, but that's the comp.

I bought Hayes low because I was seeing the lack of HR but the underlying stats looked good to me. His statcast page is pretty red. Top 10% in hard hit% and xBA. Looked like a guy who was going to turn it around.

He has hit 3 doubles that would be out of most stadiums. I wonder how this analysis would be different if he had 5 HR instead of 2.

Since I bought he has hit .333/.412/.533.

I could still see moving him and your post above is enticing. I'm still not sure.

I took out the Berti comp as I realized it wasnt fair. I can stand by the IKF comp I made in a later edit that Hayes is a little bit better.

OK chatting on text, Ken has helped me see my error in judgement on Hayes...but I would still do the Turner deal
