  • FAAB Help

In my NL only league 10 teams. I have several players I'm considering. We have 17 reserve roster but have a rule that any player FAAB you have to start that player for 1 week then can reserve the player.

Brendon Donovan 3B - He taking the place of DeJong. How much FAAB?

Need to get another SP. Please rank them:

    Zack Davies
    Connor Overton
    Jose Quintana

Alexis Diaz RP - He had been putting up really good stats on a team that doesn't have a clear closer. It seems like he could work himself the role. Insights?

    Players that can be waived:

    McGee
    Stratton
    Ottavino

Donovan seems okay for a filler that won't hurt you. 10 tm NL, I'd bid in the $3-$7 range.

Out of Davies, Overton, Quintana, I guess I'd go with Quintana. All big risks, but with the less lively baseball this year it seems Quintana's veteran guile is helping him survive. I'd drop either Stratton or Ottavino. Small bid though, probably $5 max. Diaz could be worth a shot on a speculative closer candidate, but only $3 max.
Larry David was once being heckled, long before any success. Heckler says "I'm taking my dog over to fuck your mother, weekly." Larry responds "I hate to tell you this, but your dog isn't liking it."

Thanks. In this league they overpay for players. Donovan could easily go IMO $15. I put in a bid of $9. Kept Bedard and Floro as closers putting in bid for Lopez and Mantiply. Also put a bid in for Quintana as I lost Megill to the DL. I do have Peterson on bench so I'm assuming the Mets will call him up.

Do you have unlimited FAAB with a salary cap? Or $100 FAAB? Are zero bids allowed?

These are all things to know. That said, I wouldn’t go crazy for any of them. Might not even go for the pitchers. Bad SP are damaging. And in a 10 teamer you can do better even if only via trade.

$100 cap. Zero bids not allowed. I got Quintana for $5. I hear you on the pitchers but we have a 17 reserve roster so I can move players there. We had out auction late 2 weeks after the season started. No trades have been made yet but I expect that soon things will heat yet.

I didn't get Donovan as another team bid $12. Lost out to Diaz he went for $4. Did get Mantiply for $2.
