  • AL-only Free Agent question

I own (C) Tom Murphy who is hot but on the short-end of a platoon. I have tried to trade him but found no takers.
    (C) Chance Sisco is available as a free agent. Would you drop Tom Murphy for Chance Sisco? I'm currently in 4th place in a AL-only 12 team 4X4 keeper league. I'm looking to improve my team or possibly flip Sisco for a better Catcher. All input is appreciated.

I'm not sure it's so easy. You think there are lots of contenders wanting to trade for Sisco but wont trade for Murphy? Seems like a coin flip at best. I'd expect to find more success with the hot bat if I'm potentially looking to trade. Not to mention, if those other teams are looking to add Sisco, wouldn't they just pick him up themselves??

I agree with Ken. If they want Sisco they would not need to trade for him.

You may have to wait until he piles up some stats before moving him.

You're not going to find a market for Sisco or Murphy. As was noted in another thread, there have been a number of catcher breakouts this year. They're both fringe in AL-only single catcher.

That being said, I agree with Ken it's a coin flip. Batting metrics agree with Murphy's hot streak, but that's not necessarily predictive. And we don't know if Sisco can hit, or field for that matter, at MLB level. I would ride Murphy.

I wasn't saying easy with the end point trading sisco. I was saying easy because I think sisco out earns murhpy r.o.s. and he should retain sisco
