Rules and stuff
A 28-round snake draft
League will be played out at conclusion of draft. (First choice is Yahoo)
23-man active roster, which includes the following positions:
C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, MI, CI, 5xOF and 2xUT on offense.
On the pitching side, positions are 3xSP, 2xRP and 4xP.
We'll have 5 reserve spots.
In season, there will be 2 DL spots. These cannot be used during the draft.
Scoring is standard 5x5 roto: AVG, HR, RBI, R, SB, W, K, SV, ERA, WHIP
You are not required to draft your 23 starters first, but you must have a valid lineup a the end of the draft.
In season, free agent pickups and trades are allowed. We'll plan to prevent FA pickups, either manually or by commish decree and enforcement, until opening day or some other agreed upon date.
Trades are not allowed during the draft.
Position eligibility:
20 games required for the purpose of the draft.
If 20 games aren't played at any position, the position with the most games will be used.
If any MLB games were played in 2015 or a previous season, those games are used.
If players only played in the Minors (or Korea, Japan, etc)... same rules apply to their season totals from their last season with games played.
If for some reason these rules don't cover a particular player, the commish will make a ruling with preference given to common sense.
Draft logistics
Will be conducted on FleaFlicker. Try http://www.fleaflicker.com/mlb/leagues/16390 or http://www.fleaflicker.com/mlb for URLs.
Timeout will be set ... I'm thinking 6 hours. We'll probably reduce it as we get into the later rounds.
Draft picks should be posted here in this thread for continuity/logistics, but FleaFlicker is the official site of record.
Banter, criticism, ribbing, trash talking, etc are encouraged in the commentary thread.
