It took years to create the devastation that was the Atlanta Hawks and only a day to dismantle it. What an amazing deal to get rid of Joe Johnson's contract and another one to dump one of the biggest draft day blunders ever, Marvin Williams. Won't be the same old Hawks on Ferry's watch- and that's a good thing for this city, even if Im a Heat fan.

Agreed. I don't mind the trade for NJ if that is what D-Will needed to see to re-sign, since NJ didn't give up too much, but I think it's a very nice fresh start for the Hawks as well. If Dwight Howard doesn't get to NJ and still has no interest in signing an extension with anyone else, the Hawks become a likely top destination -- the same time that CP3's two-year deal ends with the Clips. CP3, D12 and Josh Smith is a nice big three if they can pull that off. In the meanwhile, they can just sort of suck this year and get themselves a lottery pick.

Great moves by Ferry. This year's team of Horford, JSmith, Pachulia, Teague, and Morrow, with John Jenkins and Devin Harris off the bench, should still be respectable. And they should have the cap space to sign Howard (or Paul) as a free agent in 2013. It should help that both Smith and Morrow are great friends of Howard.
