I'm in and I'm casting an early vote for some combo of letters and franchises and/or decades.

I have the internet at school, what I also have is a school district monitoring our computer use. It would be tough for me to come up with an educationally sound reason to be on here Unless I teach a lesson about mocking the Amish.

Hey Wayne - according to B-R.com, several of the original Athletics are buried around Philadelphia, including Nate Berkenstock (born 1831, buried in Mount Peace Cemetery, Philadelphia). We should get a photo there next time I'm up.

I'd give it another go...if I survive this one. I need to go get another case of Tums.

                      So far we've had:

                      1. the discussion about BY only draft (Revo was it?)
                      2. a request for a combo draft: letters and Franchises / Decades (TS Garp)

If you have any other preferences ... now's the time.

How about a sports bar themed vintage draft:

Left v Right ... if left wins, losers have to vote Obama, if right wins, losers vote Romney / Santorum.

                        Hardcore Sports Bar VD:

Christian verses non-believers ... if Christians win, non-believers must go to church every Sunday without fail ... if the non-believers triumph, Christians must public denounce their faith.

Not that these aren't interesting potential themes, but I need to bow out of VD 2. I've got an 8 day trip to Belgium coming up in early March and I don't plan on having internet access. I'll be back for VD 3 and I'll pop in to make fun of your VD 2 selections. And, of course, I need my fix of Squid's mom.

the spreadsheet is already set up with letters and decades. not sure how difficult it would be for Oakland to add in franchises.

I think the vintage drafts skew far left.

ah, i had an idea that we all draft two separate teams each. lots more players taken and you could adopt different strategies for each team. chaos would ensue.

the combo draft could be too much planning mayhem, especially during prime fantasy baseball prep season.

I'd do my suggestion of BY-only, or if you want to do letters or decades, I've always been a big fan of KO picks.
