  • The Headley (NL Only Keeper)

11 team, NL Only, 5x5, $260, moderate inflation

What's the forum's thoughts on keeping Chase Headley at $13?
    Currently, I'm leaning against.

Is 15/15 his floor, or is this his ceiling?
If the former, then maybe there's a case to be made to keep The Headley.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Matty

He was never much of a base stealer in the minors, but for $13 I think he has enough value to keep.

      Thanks for the prompt reply.
I'm on the fence, I guess.
It's not a ton of money, so I won't be out too bad if he tanks.

Anticipated 3B that will be kept include:
      Wright
      Zimmerman
      Prado
      Alvarez
      Freese
      Stewart

      Thanks again.
      Regards,
      Matty

ARam had a fantastic 2nd half, so I bet he goes for big money again. McGehee has had two solid season but I bet he goes in the 20 range. Chipper, who knows, Jose Lopez and Sandoval coming off a terrible season. IMO, this might be just the guy to have.

I looked at his splits, and he was bad vs. lefties last year and not too good the year before. However, with AG gone, the Padres may see fewer lefties. Based on that possibility and the relatively low cost involved, I'd say keep him--unless you have some better bargains.

Yeah, $13 is about right. He likely won't earn a whole hell of a lot more than that, but you are relatively safe keeping him at that price. And I think the SB numbers will resemble last years. San Diego ran like the dickens last year and they over-achieved. Count on more of the same. The SB opportunities will come.
