  • Massive Yahoo oversights.

Anyone that plays a Yahoo league using the prerankings is begging for trouble. This thread is to note some of the more aggregious errors in rankings.

    Brennan Boesch - 648
    Jed Lowrie - 862
    Danny Espinosa - 964
    Marc Scutaro - 305 (2B, SS)
    Michael Cuddyer - 206 (1B, 3B, OF)
    Edwin Encarnacion - 597
    Jonny Gomes - 310
    Julio Borbon - 462
    Geoff Blum - 901

Eh, it's nowhere near as egregious as it was five years ago. They really turned themselves around in terms of rankings when they hired Funston (I don't know if it's coincidence or not, but I'm leaning not). In my opinion, some of those names are nice enough deep sleepers on draft day, but nothing more.

This is true. Five years ago only the most hyped young players got any bump over their previous stats, and SP were half the top 50.

My 12 team league only goes 264 deep into the player pool, but I thought some of these might make decent late round fliers, depending on expectations and what develops in spring training:

        944 - Dan Johnson
        930 - Kila Ka'aihue
        895 - Chris Iannetta
        825 - Aaron Harang
        801 - Rich harden
        746 - Yuniesky Maya
        726 - CM Wang
        707 - Mike Minor
        627 - Kyle Drabek
        545 - Michael Pineda
        434 - Erik Bedard
        407 - JP Howell
        368- Randy Wolf
        362 - Jake Peavy
        363 - Wil Venable
        346 - Frank Francisco
        291 - Matt Capps

I think the total pool consists of 1167 players or so. For me, Minor is the most interesting name on the above list.
