12 Team AL 4x4 Keeper

Took my first title (tied for 1st) last year and lost a couple of guys, but have a decent base for 2011. Typically 30%+ inflation. Can keep up to 13. 23 man rosters, but we require a DH eligible player and have a IF and U so only 5 OF.

Been trying to move a catcher (V Mart, Posada, Arencibia, Salti) ,3B (Encarnacion, Betemit) and DH (Thome, Posada) the last few weeks. In discussion for either Moreland $3 s2 or Borbon $5 s1 for something line two of Posada or Thome and Encarnacion or Betemit.

In a 12 teamer, I wouldn't keep Posada at 16, nor EE at 14. I know that he's a sexy pick for a sleeper this season, but he's burned me too many times to trust him. I like your pitching keepers, and would extend Anderson to 14.

If you can do a deal for Borbon, I'd do it quick. I'm not as hot on Moreland, but he'll provide profit at $2

Honestly, I am only really sold on your pitching keepers. I'd probably keep Beltre, too, but he's not a great bargain (although with 30% inflation that's a reasonable price). V-Mart is also keepable. Arencibia is a good minor league keeper. Salty is probably worth a keep at $2. This assumes you keep two catchers.

Agreed my pitching is my strong suit. Lots of pieces that are close to value. It is a weird league with catcher prices too. If you have a pulse you go for $5-$7.

I guess Borbon, but not by much...he had a horrible year last year in the steals department (and most other cats as well), but Texas doesn't want Wonderboy in center, so he's pretty much set. I think that Brantley is going to get more steals, but hit for a lower BA.

I agree, Borbon by a bit. I think he has a little more upside, maybe 10-15 points in BA, could steal 30+ if he improves his OB. Brantley will probably hit .260 with 20 steals. Neither has any real power potential

He ended up giving me Brantley $5 s2 for Thome $8 s2, Salti $2 s2 and Iglesia $5 (minors). Hopefully Brantley steals me a few bases.
