  • Movies You'll Watch Anytime It's On

There are some movies that I will have to watch no matter how many times I've seen it or what time of night it's on.

    Shawshank Redemption
    Tombstone
    Casino
    Godfather

I'm not saying these are the very best of all time, but I can never look away...

Just a brief list... anyone else have any "must watch" flicks?

Some people say winning isn't everything. I say those people never won anything.

Quitters never win, winners never quit, but those who never win AND never quit are idiots.

The last thing I want to do is hurt you...but it's still on the list.

Some people are like Slinkies, they are not really good for anything but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

              The Breakfast Club
              Roadhouse
              The Devil Wears Prada
              Glory

Literally means "pulling your pants down to fart" which is a Chinese idiom for "wasted effort." Makes sense to me!

Tomestone at the top of the list. Also love Serenity and will watch it every time it's on.

I agree with a lot of these, espcially Shawshank, Jaws, Pulp Fiction, Raiders, Breakfast Club. The funny (stupid?) thing is, I own all of those on DVD. And yet if I'm surfing through channels and come across one of them on TBS, I'll still sit and watch it to the end - commercials and all - even though I could easily pull out the disc and watch it uninterrupted and unedited.

Anthing Looney Tunes/Three Stooges/Tom and Jerry--at least between commercials depending on the short.

                              The Great Escape
                              Ferris Bueller's Day Off
                              Die Hard (1 and 3)
James Bond, especially the Ian Fleming stories
                              Shawshank Redemption
                              Gladiator
                              Band of Brothers

                              The Classics:
Cary Grant comedies and his suspense movies, especially North by Northwest
Errol Flynn's Captain Blood, Sea Hawk and Robin Hood
                              John Wayne
Audie Murphy movies, especially To Hell and Back
James Stewart (favorite line in Shenandoah is the prayer in which he claims they worked "dog bone hard", but thank you anyway God)
Gary Cooper, especially High Noon and Sergeant York
