    GOP Outsider Takeover

    With the Tennessee primaries last night, the results continue to show that sitting GOPers should fear for their existence. Rep. Diane Black, the GOP rep. who was heavily backed by Mike Pence and heavily favored to win the Gubernatorial primary, limped into 3rd place.

    Black is the 5th sitting house member to lose a primary in 2018.

    Having more success are these "outsider" businessmen and women, who fit the Trump mold of having little DC experience.

    It's interesting that the Republicans and the Kochs appear to be splitting up over this.
    In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.

      Only a little surprising. Charles Koch supported the Trump wing only grudgingly in ‘16, and parted ways once the trade wars started. David Koch, who is very much libertarian, was more inclined to support Trump candidates on the premise that they’re doing more for libertarian causes than traditional GOP candidates. But David is in failing health and hasn’t been active with their political wing for over a year.

                go back and read what I was replying to. I never said Sanders would turn the US into Venezuela.

                              It seems he was using Venezuela as the example of what I had stated prior to that which was if your Democracy fails and your citizens cede their rights to a Socialist government - well essentially be careful what you ask for.

                              And from what my recollection is Venezuela was a very Democratic/Capitalistic country that ceded their rights to a Socialist Dictator and has become a real pile.

                              So his Bienvenido a Venezuela was the ultimate outcome of ceding your rights.
