  • Battle for MVP (Most Valuable Python) (Monty Python)

    Same rules as always:

    First one to five wins.
Whoever casts the fifth vote makes the next nomination but does not vote in that round.

    First round:

    Eric Idle
    vs.
    Graham Chapman

  • #2
    Graham Chapman
"There is involved in this struggle the question whether your children and my children shall enjoy the privileges we have enjoyed. I say this in order to impress upon you, if you are not already so impressed, that no small matter should divert us from our great purpose. "

Abraham Lincoln, from his Address to the Ohio One Hundred Sixty Fourth Volunteer Infantry

This thread is useless without YouTube!

They're both pretty good in this one.

"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean - neither more nor less."
"The question is," said Alice, "whether you can make words mean so many different things."
"The question is," said Humpty Dumpty, "which is to be master - that's all."

Eric Idle was a double threat since he could also do song writing. So Eric Idle, wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more.

I think that makes it Chapman 2, Idle 1

Not sure if sheep is voting.

And, Lucky, Hogan pretty much killed pro wrestling for me.

Idle was wonderfully loony, and was hilarious in drag. Chapman was more of an everyman, but he really used that to his advantage. I can't pick one. I think I have to abstain. In fact, I may have to abstain in every match-up, because I love the others, too.

                        I vote for Idle. 2-2.

Chapman's alcoholism meant the rest of the group had to carry him in the later years.
