So I am in the process of possibly changing careers over the next 1-2 years.
I have always alternated between 2 different careers Theatre and the poker world**Currently a shift manager at a 45 table tribal room** and could easily remain there, though I am moving back to Vegas after the wedding this summer to be with the girls for their final 4 years of school..so a change is on the horizon.
That being said I have been offered an opportunity to train into a new career free of charge all while receiving a salary of sorts to do so. Now this new career path is right up my alley for what I perceive are my strengths as a person and my core beliefs as a man. However I would be almost 55 by the time I started the new gig, which isn't an issue to me right now as I'm very healthy and young minded, but could I really expect 20-25 more productive years of work to be left in me? Would it be worth it if I only continued to work until 70?
I have friends who are now getting out of the military after 30 years and they are moving into other fields so I know it's more common now than in the past. Do any of you have experience in this or know of someone who's tried the same thing?
Thanks for the feedback in advance.........Doig.
